The hourglass is easy to attach to the sauna wall so you can easily keep track of how long you have been in the sauna. It is recommended to stay in the sauna for a maximum of approximately 15 minutes per session.

To better preserve the hourglass, it is important to stoke the sauna heater slowly.

- Start with a small fire of kindling and a few thin logs, and let it burn for 20 to 30 minutes before adding larger logs. Especially in frost, this gives the entire interior, including the glass, time to warm up.
- Then gradually build up to the desired temperature instead of loading the heater immediately.
- Keep the door closed while warming up. You can ventilate as soon as the sauna has reached the desired temperature.

Use of the hourglass

- Do not hang it above or directly next to the stove, where the radiant heat is highest. A spot on the wall opposite the stove is better.
- Also, do not hang it right next to the door. There, the warm glass hits a cold draft when opening, which causes the reverse shock.
- Ensure that no pouring water splashes onto the glass. Cold water on hot glass is often the direct cause of a crack.
