Pure scents for the sauna and at home

In a standard sauna for 45 people, the use of pure scents is 0.5 to 1 ml per liter of water.
Since very little needs to be used and this differs per scent, the pure scents are best used by specialists who are used to working with essential oils and pure perfume oils.

Essential oil in the sauna

Essential oil is used as sauna oil by putting 10 to 20 drops per liter of water in the sauna tub before pouring the scent with the water onto the stove. The essential oil drops can also be added to an ice ball made from crunch ice. Crunch ice is easy to make in a professional sauna complex with a crunch ice machine. 20 drops of essential oil = 1 ml of essential oil.

These scents can also be used in the following ways:

• Aroma diffusers (add 3 to 6 drops to the water in the aroma diffuser)
• Aroma burners (add 3 to 6 drops to the water in the aroma burner)
• Aromastones (put 2 to 4 drops on the aromastone)
• Diffusers (add 4 to 8 drops to the water in the diffuser)
• Steam cabin: add 2 to 4 drops of essential oil to a sponge and place it in a stainless steel bowl under the steam pipe

Do not take the essential oil neat or use it on the skin.

Fragrance strengths

The reason why there are people who use pure essential oil or perfume is because if you dose it correctly, the pure scents work more efficiently as an infusion because you simply need less. But then you have to pay attention to the odor strengths. Usually, with a pure essential oil or perfume, you use about 10 to 15 drops of pure essential oil or perfume per liter of water. The amount that is best to use is always indicated on the bottle. Fragrance strength 2 is the lowest and fragrance strength 6 is the highest. You therefore need significantly fewer drops for fragrances with fragrance strength 6 than for fragrances with fragrance strength 2.

Fragrance strengths classified according to our advice

This may differ per situation, but this way you can at least see that it does matter what odor strength a scent has.

Fragrance strengths of essential oil and perfume

Fragrance strength 2 = moderate: 1.50 ml. on 1 liter of water. (30 drops in 1 liter of water)

Fragrance strength 3 = strong: 1.25 ml. on 1 liter of water. (25 drops in 1 liter of water)

Fragrance strength 4 = stronger: 1 ml. in 1 liter of water. (20 drops in 1 liter of water)

Odor strength 5 = very strong: 0.75 ml. in 1 liter of water. (15 drops in 1 liter of water)

Odor strength 6 = strongest: 0.5 ml. in 1 liter of water. (10 drops in 1 liter of water)
